What Can You Do at Winslow Stables?
Our goal is to teach confidence and respect, build meaningful and lasting relationships and work to bring out the most in horse and rider no matter the age or experience. The rules and regulations are coupled with acceptance and encouragement. We want all of our riders to learn discipline, excellence, confidence and have a wonderful time while doing it!
When you arrive for your first lesson, we ask that you arive about 15 minutes before the scheduled ride time. Proper attire includes long pants and closed toe shoes, preferably with a hard sole and slight heel to them. We believe the best way to learn confidence and respect around horses is to be involved in all aspects, which includes grooming and tacking up your assigned horse with the help of our professionals.
In addition, please bring with you the signed liability release form.
Once your horse is ready, you will recieve a 30 minute private or semi-private (2-3 riders) lesson. During this time, we teach all the fundamentals of riding. As you progress, we then build on these funamentals to help you further understand your horse and strenghen your control over them.

IMPORTANT: If you are using a Groupon, only ONE groupon may be used PER child. They are ONLY for first time customers.
Each horse in training is worked on a regular basis to make sure they are in top performing condition. We understand that each horse has its own needs and personality and we work to make sure this is understood and respected in order to bring out their maximum potential. The owner/rider is then taught on a personal basis to understand their horse and how to bring out its best.
We also compete at regional horse shows throughout the year to put lessons and training to the test. While horse shows are optional, riders love to dress up and enter the ring showing off what they have learned. Horse shows are available for both beginner and advance riders and is an excellent goal for riders to work toward.
Camps are offered intermittently throughout the year. Time at camp includes learning the many facets of proper horse care, ride time, games, crafts, and a snack.
